About Still-Moving DJs

We love music, and with every performance we like to make sure there is something for everyone.  Martin and Tom teamed up on discovering similar passions for music, dj-ing, vinyl records, gramophones, vintage bicycles and cake!

Martin

DJ-ing over ten years, with his first gig for for the university orchestra that wanted a broad range of genres to suite hugely varying musical tastes.

Brought up to appreciate a diverse range of music, Martin has a love for music history, world-music and the local music scene. He discovered a lot of amazing music whilst travelling and working as a music journalist, and always on the look out for great records, musicians and bands.

His ultimate aim is for any performance to be fun, adventurous, interactive and memorable.

Tom

DJ-ing for over a decade Tom has toured from Southampton to New Zealand and many roads between, with his live percussion adding both an expressive, improvised and fresh slant on the show.

He has been involved in music all his life - aiming to perform at shows far and wide with percussion to touch your soul and move your feet through the power of music.

Known for Reggae Dub and Ska with live Percussion (theuplifter.co.uk), and well known for his hat collection!

Sound Systems / PA

We have full sound systems that will easily cater for small to large venues (e.g. plenty for a club, hall or marquee, but not quite enough for a stadium!). All electronic equipment from amps to extension leads are PAT Tested for safety on a yearly basis.

Please note that the sound systems are not for general hire, or for use by other DJ's or bands, unless we're present to supervise usage.

Hats, Attire and Props

We always consider our own appearance as well as the set-up, to ensure it is appropriate for the occasion.  This may mean getting suited and booted for a wedding or corporate event, or even dressing up in rags and selecting records from wicker baskets!

We only purchase second-hand clothes and props to support local charity shops and recycling.

We love vinyl records, and often bring (and use) our original vintage wind-up gramphone players!

... And we sometimes bring our antique bicycles!
